Exercise Bike And Proform Exercise Equipment

Exercise bikes are the first things that probably come to mind

cycles, widely known as exercise bikes, have gained loads of recognition that they are, next to TV, the most in demand and popular household items today.

One of the top advantages of exercise bikes are they are possibly the most affordable piece of fitness gear on the market you can get today. Starting around $200 and ranging up to $2500, exercise bikes offer a huge variety of models and features for every price range and every fitness level.

Exercise bikes are unique because many of them come pre-programmed with various biking routines already installed. You can simulate various courses which require you to sprint, pedal uphill, and perform at different difficulty levels within the same workout without having to continuously press buttons and altering everything. You can even choose random programs so you do not know going to happen next, which truly keeps you on awake and focused on your exercise routine. Some exercise bikes can eve be plugged into TVs and video games to let you interactively pedal through virtual racing courses.

Stationary bikes (or upright bikes) are the exercise bikes with the aim of most people can identify with. They are the same basic unit as was available in the 1980's. But these types of exercise bikes are pretty uncomfortable. But you are not really able to do anything like read or watch TV because you're leaning left and right and bouncing along, as these basic routines get old hat very quickly.

Some of the features that you discover with exercise bikes are feature that will increase your performance. One of the big problems or differences between the stationary bike and those that use real bikes is because you don't get the up and down when riding hills that by their very nature would intensify your workout. But, now this is possible when you use an exercise bicycle which you can increase and loosen its tension. Also, some exercise bikes can be raised to different height levels to simulate the effects of bike riding up and down hills.

Weslo, Reebok, Tuntui, Stamina, Proform, Nordic Track and Fitnees Track have for numerous years built some of the best exercise bikes we have known and all of these manufactures are still making such bikes. There are fold-up bikes for those living in apartments or for people who are just tight for space. Many individuals are now trying to create a home gym with the key ingredients in exercise equipment; and the exercise bike should be first on their shopping list. The exercise with an exercise bike itself is an excellent aerobic exercise, easy to begin with and works preferably as a cross trainer with most other exercise equipment.

Resistance on the "exercise bike" can be adjusted to different intensities that will fit an individual's aerobic needs from the gentle to the more strenuous. The versatility of the exercise bike allows it modifiable to various requirements by the exerciser. Some like better the slow pedaling at higher resistance levels; while others want spinning the wheel at lower resistance levels while others would like to use various alternating resistance. They can also fit the exerciser requirements that would want a more forward leaning position, a standing-up position and the reclining position.

A recumbent bike, sometimes called a "bent," is a type of stationary exercise bike that is more relaxing...literally. It places the stiff in a semi or fully reclining position, taking pressure off your lower back area. Some individuals feel the position is difficult to adapt to at the start, but many who choose recumbent bikes say they are quite simple and comfortable to ride. They regularly come with a larger riding seat that often means you will stay on the bike longer or not have any discomfort later after finishing your exercise routine.
